CAD Modelling Services
CAD Design is frequently present along the design process and can serve different purposes. Our professional 3D CAD designers can take your project, and turn it into a manufacture ready product design, whether you only have drawings or sketches, or an existing CAD model of your idea. We can produce 3D CAD models ready to be prototyped, 3D printed or mass manufactured. We can also produce manufacturing, design and patent registration drawings, as well as perform more simple tasks such as CAD model adjustments to existing designs.

Design Development and Engineering
This stage of the product design process involves the engineering and fine tuning of the chosen concept to enable a first prototype to be made. As the style has been established in the previous concept design stage we can now focus on the finer detail. Changes identified following presentation of concepts such as size adjustments may also be made. If your product contains electronics, the components will be accounted for here before moving on to the electronics development stages.
CAD for Prototyping
Prototyping and mass manufacturing are achieved through very different processes, and therefore a product’s CAD needs to be optimized accordingly for each stage. Our team has many years of expertise in the best methods to prototype and test your product, and a range of both in-house capabilities and network of suppliers to produce these. The CAD will be optimised to make prototyping as efficient and cost-effective for processes like 3D Printing, whilst producing the closest result to the final product.
CAD for Manufacturing
Following on from prototype construction, areas of improvement are identified and the design further refined. Different prototypes may be constructed before deciding the product is ready for manufacture. During this process we involve the manufacturers to gain their feedback and recommendations. Every product design is unique and presents its own set of challenges. Working with our network of suppliers and manufacturers we can ensure this process runs smoothly. The picture shows a simulation of molten plastic flow during the injection moulding process. By analysing the flow we can identify potential problems with moulding and correct before tooling begins.
Product Manufacturing Specification
Once your design is ready for manufacture we can produce a pack of information for the manufacturing factory to follow. This will ensure your product is produced to the agreed standard and fit and finish is perfected. As well as 3D data this information also includes General Assembly details and a Bill of Materials (BOM).
Patent or Registration Materials
If you wish to protect you idea, our team can provide you with all of the drawings needed to file your application. We work with skilled patent attorneys to ensure your product invention idea is communicated effectively within a patent application or design registration. We provide professional patent and design registration drawings and illustrations, tailored to your application to ensure best value and protection.
