LuminAir – Light Show Drones
Lumin Air produces drones in the UK to create stunning aerial displays and mesmerising experiences. They can form a large range of shapes, logos and patterns for special events and occasions. The number of drones usually increase with the complexity of the shapes to produce more intricate shows.
Each drone is programmed to change their LED lights and position to form 3-dimensional shapes in an open space. Drone shows usually occur in large venues including parks, football pitches and stadiums.
Drone Enclosure Prototype
LuminAir approached Idea Reality to produce 3 bespoke enclosures for their existing drone elements. Our design team had to CAD and 3D print these parts in short time frame.
Apart from ensuring all components fit into the enclosure, we had to keep the parts weight to a minimum (so that the drone’s performance wasn’t affected), make the parts’ design stackable for storage and transportation, and ensure translucency of the bottom enclosure part in order to effectively diffuse light from LEDs.
