The Problem
Any successful new product needs to answer a problem. At the start of the workshop, we will break down the struggles users face using existing solutions, and identify the market gap they create.
User, Task, Environment
The discussion will lead us to identifying who is the target user (and any important considerations for this group), the tasks the product will be supporting, and the environment(s) where it will be used. Establishing these points early in the process is essential to ensure the project’s brief remains relevant, and the created designs meet these needs.
Must Have & Nice To Have Features
Coming up with a new product idea is an exciting venture, and the range of different possibilities is vast. However, it is important to stay focused on the design’s Must Have features, to streamline development and initial production costs. Our design team will advise on any elements that could be classed as Nice To Have and are better suited for a version two of the product.
Existing Products Review
Reviewing existing products and technologies used can be a great tool to aid the development of your new product. We can test some of these product together, identifying their pain points, and potentially taking inspiration from any existing mechanisms.
Sketching Ideation
If relevant, our design team can begin sketching some of the ideas discussed, involving you in ideation process early on. This will give you the chance of pointing our your preferences on both the concepts functionality and aesthetics, ensuring the designs developed on a next stage match your vision as closely as possible.
We will discuss potential scope to innovate and create something even more unique to help you stand out in the current market. We will consider manufacturing options from the get go, ensuring concepts will be suitable for your budget and route to market.
